Halfbiking at Dawn

Well not the actual Dawn but as close to 5 AM as I could

The humidity at 6ish was high but falling fast and the temperature was low — in the 70s — so I took a chance among the garbage-trucks and school-buses.

I’d been staring at the long uphill which 16th becomes and decided today was the day. Without cars it’s quite a fun uphill and I rode it every other lap without incident. At 8 9 10 etc it’s a death-trap.

It’s a good morning route

Sprinting in the Climbing Gear

Despite the high temperatures I decided perhaps foolishly to take Mr Tib out to the Airport and ride some Sprintervals. Hacia mucho calor indeed. The place was nearly empty but one shirtless guy passed me twice just to prove he could I suppose.

The work on the Ponte Storto continues ruining my upper loop at the park but it need the repairing so there’s that.

Airport Sprinting is Heart-Demanding. I’ve missed it

Once Red-Beard advised me to make my last lap speed equal my first la[ speed and I remember being able to do that but today I had no chance. Heat took away all my oomph

Low Humidity

Almost no humidity out there today plus some wind. I had a new chain put on my Baby & her odd clicking has mostly vanished. 800 feet of climbing today; more than I usually get. The route crosses some active car-repair businesses so I need some luck avoiding traffic.

Park Construction still an issue

Halfbike Action

I tried again to enjoy some AM falling humidity on the Halfbike. I had wanted to start at 5:30 and get-in 15 miles of so but everything conspired against me and I began pedaling at 6:10. 13 good miles tho and a while lot of Sweat. Almost no traffic so little danger of any crashing.

500 feet of Up

Halfbike in the Early Humidity

I try starting at 5:30 every Sunday yet invariably my start-time is 6:15 or so hence 15 milers elude me for now. Loopy demands her walk at 7 so I must settle for shorter rides.

Today had almost no traffic and the roads were mostly dry. I’m still avoiding the 175 Heart-rate Hill in the humidity but the less steep route is also fun. 166 for my high.

Halfbiking is becoming my favorite pedal-chain experience.

Caught in the Rain

Every app said No Rain so I set-off for a good thirty-miler in good faith.

I got 12 miles done but they were still fun even when wet. Fixies handle in the rain very well indeed but it’s the fear of not being seen by motorists that takes my rides away.

I’m working on a good 10 mile opening loop
