Completely Caught In A Rainstorm

Today was our Indy-Car Race & the Talking Heads threatened rain around race-time or 3:00. I failed to confirm this in any app because these folks are Professionals. I began my ride at 12:30 confident I’d beat the rain. It hit at 1:15 and it was an actual storm which brought-down tree-limbs & actual trees too. The paths I rode my first laps were rendered impassable due to debris. I had a moment’s rational thought of returning home & logging the Abandoned Ride, but something made me stick it out fur the entire 31 miles.

I managed to bunny-hop this branch on a slick path — not easy on a Fixie

I figured a mild shower so I just kept on riding. By the time I knew it was a storm I was too deep into Shelby Bottoms simply to ride home. Calmer weather followed by mile 20 so I just altered my paths & finished up the ride.

Part of the route I adopted from my old Saturday rides the Indy Race-Course prevented me from going all the way up Davidson but the small loop off of 5th has always been fun.

I don’t know how much of the 164 is due to Fear

I took Amabo out and her Pure-Fix wheels have distinctive plastic accents on them which became filled with water; she still sloshes a bit down in the garage.
