I couldn’t fathom the weather app so I punted any outside ride & took Aurora for a spin. The leg feels good as I’m now used to its limitations. Sprinting a bit easier now.

now in the mind indestructible

The awkward Davidson detour endures but it affords a good & much needed link to Shelby & some familiar climbing. I don’t recall the loop around the pond being so tough but I guess it was in the beginning. A few months of loops & I ought to be ready to ride to the Dam again.

I’m glad about those 940 feet of Up.

Not that far away from Sprint Intervals again; I hope I can handle the wind .
I suppose it’s ironic that I rode inside on National Bike Day. Weary legs anyway. 1.5 miles standing (leg felt good) and 5 reverse pedaling to prepare for the hills. A good weary ride

Tomorrow ought to be dry enough for outside hills
Still tinkering with Saddle Height — I think I have it dialed-in now — so I tried it out in tough circumstances. There’s a trio of semi-connected hills right outside of Shelby with virtually no car traffic. The leg held on every looping climb & my speed never dropped below 10 mph in the splits. Perhaps by late June I’ll be ready to try the very steep hills too.

Unfortunately a crowd of walkers created a situation on the path & I could not avoid riding over but not killing a snake. The crowd did nothing to prevent the situation.

A good tough ride.
We have a big Car Show annually which shuts down several blocks of my usual routes but since the cars are lovely & loud I don’t mind the detours.
I had not expected so much wind but in the end one must ride what’s given.

I still need a few weeks before I’ll be strong enough for sprinting.

I did not expect the win nor the slight rain which followed it but it was a good ride & the leg held

A bit cooler weather brought out many deer too

I hope to start Sprint Intervals next month; I dearly need them
I tried a slight saddle-adjustment & took on some of the hills on Shelby’s extremities like it was Saturday. The legs feel good; I really must have dedicated sprinting days again tho.
Up Shelby from 5th to 14th went better than expected. The climbs near the Airport were merely fatiguing. I may be ready for the Dam by August.

Now, about the pollen . . . I’m not a fan

I did another adapted old Wednesday route with a Gravel detour due to more construction. I blew the simple math & could not get 2 laps done in 31 miles so I took a short way home. Legs feel good & only slightly fatigued.

I saw 2 One-Speeders out there which I take as a personal victory.

A good day for Team Sloth

I didn’t expect it to be so windy; I took a flat route & concentrated mostly on staying above 15 mph. What I’m going to need to come all the way back is 2 rides per week at the Airport again. Toward the end I fell in with a fellow 60 year-old on his Cannondale. He passed me but we chatted a bit.

The wind kept the crowds away but there were a few deer.

Legs feel good — still a little non-connection but that’s what the squats are for.
Today was the Tour of Nashville but I didn’t ride it. I took part of the old Wednesday route & stuck on the Stratford High loop on the end of it. A pretty challenging 31 miles — plus I rode up my home hill for the first time in months. Leg held the entire way. 1095 feet of Up.

I need a few months of this.
