now in the mind indestructible

I took the light bike out for 33 miles in 2 hours 16 minutes up some tough hills with just a bit of sprinting. The Halfbike plus Hector have given my legs some confidence. No whimpers at all despite 3 tough hill-repeats and two steep Hill exits.

Aurora peak/plateau works well too.

At least that’s my aim this year. It 3as a fine enough day for an outdoor ride but the day git away from me.
3 peaks over 5 miles.

I’ll have to determine different expectation for the shorter rides
Since I’m no longer a spring chicken I’m aiming at 100 Aurora next year. Basically twice a week — so manageable shd one start early. I’m still hoping for 62s 78s and 100s but that’s gotten much more difficult to achieve.
Good peaks/plateaus — alas still unseeable

Arachne was a dream-ride today. Handled 3rd gear well; I’m getting comfortable with the Fishtailing. I made it 7/8th up my hill — a foot-slip stopped me instead of fatigue.

She was definitely the best thing to happen to me this year
I avoided the last of the melting ice by staying indoors. It didn’t help that MapMyRide is on the fritz & does not record anyway.

My plan for a Halfbike ride alas evaporated with the ice.
Amid our ill-timed Rolling Blackouts I rode Aurora 9 miles in 27 minutes — 25 of those minutes constituted the Route. 4 good Peak-Plateaus even though the lights died & I had to guesstimate my rpms.

That all my peaks disappear in the clouds irks me plenty
Dodged the cold in the morning & celebrated the warmth in the afternoon.

All my peak/plateaus get lost up there in the clouds

Made it very nearly to the top of my steep hill
Stayed inside to watch rather than fight any traffic.

Good sustained peaks which are unfortunately always hidden in the clouds. Halfbike makes for longer sustained higher RPMs indoors.
Warm enough today for some 2nd- and then 1st-gear action. Slick leaves on the usual uphill so I tried again to climb up my hill toward home. Made it just under half-way.

Better turns mean no stops to adjust course. The whole No Sitting thing seems like punishment until it becomes just the normal ride.

Hit the bag after and leg-fatigue was evident instantly. In bad weather I’d love to indoor-Halfbike but there is just no way.
Something Dan Bongino said about Lifting then Cardio plus a late start made me try extending my regular Fencing workout (which ends with kettlebells) into my Aurora ride. Yes; my legs were very weary but they made it all the way through 2 peaks and for half the usual 3rd peak.

I’ll probably keep this routine
