I foolishly dressed for 40° instead of 50° so there was little hope of Cutting Through The Wind. Nevertheless I had a good 45 miler with 14 laps of Sprintervals at the airport.

Just a few of us out there today, 4 of whom passed me like I was an oil-painting
I let the early rain evaporate & took the Halfbike out for a good 4 miler in 25 minutes. Virtually no traffic and a nice steady breeze.
I kept it in 2nd after my Language-Walk (about 5 miles of French Spanish & Latin) but even then the legs felt it; I made it up 7/8ths of my hill tho. A good weary effort.

A good ride
I went with more 30 second plateaus but I don’t have a pattern yet for doing it. Just variety I guess. Shorter rests though (fewer flat valleys) fits my cycling style better. That’s something I must work on — wider plateaus.

Peaks lost again in the clouds
Today I went with fewer yet longer plateaus & more time spent pedaling in the valleys. More of a Responding than an Attacking ride. This also feels good.

Still with the Invisible Peaks but it makes a more understandable pattern.
After a morning with Hector* I went with 30 second sprints on Aurora. Ever 2 minutes means in 20 minutes I managed i of them

For once peaks are clearly visible. Weary Leg Pedaling pays-off later on the road trying to catch that cyclist way in the distance
Our storms are coming in soon so today was probably the last day in the 60s for a few months. I took-out the heavy bike and avoided Me Sad Field which I now consider to be cursed. Otherwise it was the old Wednesday route of Sprint-Intervals without the Intervals. I don’t know how aggressive were the gusts but it was no day for intervals.

I’d be happy with anything near 500 feet gained.

I tend to sprint in the 170s & 180s but the effort against the wind was still tough.
If I’m counting correctly I got 11 30-second peaks over 30 minutes.

I’m getting better at timing & enduring peaks. 6 over 25 minutes is an increase of 2, although 2 of the 6 were 30 second sprints rather than one minute sprints.
I’ll accept all improvement.

I don’t know exactly why MapMyRide hates my Halfbike rides but it never successfully records them. Always some glitch after the initial upload & poof it vanishes.
Had a good 5.31 miles in mostly 3rd gear today. Had to dodge one car.

Legs still a bit weary from Thursday’s Hectoring, but in the end I made it half-way up my hill.
