I think I made the right decision today in turning toward home without hitting 2,000 feet of climbing. I’m not certain I would have been able to make it home; sometimes you must listen to the Heart & sometimes to the Legs.

I started a Porter Road variation I’d never thought of before & it puts much pressure early & often on my legs. 1000 feet of climbing in 21 miles – I cd probably find a way to do it in 18 miles. At any rate once I connect Porter with Willow Springs & Pinehurst I’ll have much increased difficulty.

I’m certain the Phone App has shorted my climbing; cell service is nearly nil there.
